1

“Indeed, the Lord will call you back

like a wife who has been abandoned and suffers from depression,

like a young wife when she has been rejected,” says your God.

Isa 54:6

2

The Lord deserves praise!

Day after day he carries our burden,

the God who delivers us. (Selah)

Psa 68:19

3

As for me, I will call out to God,

and the Lord will deliver me.

During the evening, morning, and noontime

I will lament and moan,

and he will hear me.

He will rescue me and protect me from those who attack me,

even though they greatly outnumber me.

Psa 55:16-18

4

Let the desert and dry region be happy;

let the wilderness rejoice and bloom like a lily!

Let it richly bloom;

let it rejoice and shout with delight!

It is given the grandeur of Lebanon,

the splendor of Carmel and Sharon.

They will see the grandeur of the Lord,

the splendor of our God.

Strengthen the hands that have gone limp,

steady the knees that shake!

Tell those who panic,

“Be strong! Do not fear!

Look, your God comes to avenge!

With divine retribution he comes to deliver you.”

Then blind eyes will open,

deaf ears will hear.

Then the lame will leap like a deer,

the mute tongue will shout for joy;

for water will flow in the desert,

streams in the wilderness.

The dry soil will become a pool of water,

the parched ground springs of water.

Where jackals once lived and sprawled out,

grass, reeds, and papyrus will grow.

A thoroughfare will be there -

it will be called the Way of Holiness.

The unclean will not travel on it;

it is reserved for those authorized to use it -

fools will not stray into it.

No lions will be there,

no ferocious wild animals will be on it -

they will not be found there.

Those delivered from bondage will travel on it,

those whom the Lord has ransomed will return that way.

They will enter Zion with a happy shout.

Unending joy will crown them,

happiness and joy will overwhelm them;

grief and suffering will disappear.

Isa 35:1-10

5

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had ceased to exist, and the sea existed no more. And I saw the holy city - the new Jerusalem - descending out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Look! The residence of God is among human beings. He will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more - or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.”

Rev 21:1-4

6

“O afflicted one, driven away, and unconsoled!

Look, I am about to set your stones in antimony

and I lay your foundation with lapis-lazuli.

I will make your pinnacles out of gems,

your gates out of beryl,

and your outer wall out of beautiful stones.

All your children will be followers of the Lord,

and your children will enjoy great prosperity.

You will be reestablished when I vindicate you.

You will not experience oppression;

indeed, you will not be afraid.

You will not be terrified,

for nothing frightening will come near you.

If anyone dares to challenge you, it will not be my doing!

Whoever tries to challenge you will be defeated.

Isa 54:11-15

7

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we may be able to comfort those experiencing any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow toward us, so also our comfort through Christ overflows to you. But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort that you experience in your patient endurance of the same sufferings that we also suffer. And our hope for you is steadfast because we know that as you share in our sufferings, so also you will share in our comfort.

2Co 1:3-7

8

Those who shed tears as they plant

will shout for joy when they reap the harvest.

The one who weeps as he walks along, carrying his bag of seed,

will certainly come in with a shout of joy, carrying his sheaves of grain.

Psa 126:5-6

9

Thy shoes shall be iron and brass;

and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

Deu 33:25 (KJV)

the Lordʼs loyal followers and delivers them.

Psa 34:19

13

If you, O Lord, were to keep track of sins,

O Lord, who could stand before you?

But you are willing to forgive,

so that you might be honored.

Psa 130:3-4

14

You are my hiding place;

you protect me from distress.

You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance. (Selah)

Psa 32:7

15

Wicked men will be wiped out,

but those who rely on the Lord are the ones who will possess the land.

Psa 37:9

16

Come, letʼs consider your options,” says the Lord.

“Though your sins have stained you like the color red,

you can become white like snow;

though they are as easy to see as the color scarlet,

you can become white like wool.

Isa 1:18

17

The Lord roars from Zion;

from Jerusalem his voice bellows out.

The heavens and the earth shake.

But the Lord is a refuge for his people;

he is a stronghold for the citizens of Israel.

Joe 3:16

18

I will make up for the years

that the ʻarbeh-locust consumed your crops -

the yeleq-locust, the hasil-locust, and the gazam-locust -

my great army that I sent against you.

Joe 2:25

19

“Yet even now,” the Lord says,

“return to me with all your heart -

with fasting, weeping, and mourning.

Tear your hearts,

not just your garments!”

Return to the Lord your God,

for he is merciful and compassionate,

slow to anger and boundless in loyal love - often relenting from calamitous punishment.

Who knows?

Perhaps he will be compassionate and grant a reprieve,

and leave blessing in his wake -

a meal offering and a drink offering for you to offer to the Lord your God!

Joe 2:12-14

20

You will have plenty to eat,

and your hunger will be fully satisfied;

you will praise the name of the Lord your God,

who has acted wondrously in your behalf.

My people will never again be put to shame.

Joe 2:26

21

As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the sovereign One,

and resides in the protective shadow of the mighty king -

I say this about the Lord, my shelter and my stronghold,

my God in whom I trust -

he will certainly rescue you from the snare of the hunter

and from the destructive plague.

He will shelter you with his wings;

you will find safety under his wings.

His faithfulness is like a shield or a protective wall.

You need not fear the terrors of the night,

the arrow that flies by day,

the plague that comes in the darkness,

or the disease that comes at noon.

Psa 91:1-6

22

Though a thousand may fall beside you,

and a multitude on your right side,

it will not reach you.

Certainly you will see it with your very own eyes -

you will see the wicked paid back.

Psa 91:7-8

23

No harm will overtake you;

no illness will come near your home.

For he will order his angels

to protect you in all you do.

They will lift you up in their hands,

so you will not slip and fall on a stone.

Psa 91:10-12

24

You will subdue a lion and a snake;

you will trample underfoot a young lion and a serpent.

Psa 91:13

25

The godly grow like a palm tree;

they grow high like a cedar in Lebanon.

Planted in the Lordʼs house,

they grow in the courts of our God.

They bear fruit even when they are old;

they are filled with vitality and have many leaves.

So they proclaim that the Lord, my protector,

is just and never unfair.

Psa 92:12-15

26

Lord, you have heard the request of the oppressed;

you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer.

You defend the fatherless and oppressed,

so that mere mortals may no longer terrorize them.

Psa 10:17-18

27

Lord, how numerous are my enemies!

Many attack me.

Many say about me,

“God will not deliver him.” (Selah)

But you, Lord, are a shield that protects me;

you are my glory and the one who restores me.

Psa 3:1-3
